About SkyOne

A Proud Tradition, A Future for Families

SkyOne was founded in 1949 by eight Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) employees who came together to support each other financially. What began as a modest operation—run from a cigar box—grew quickly, ending that first year with over 200 members and nearly $20,000 in assets.

As the CAA became the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), we evolved right alongside it—changing names, expanding services, and reaching members across 13 Western states. Over time, we welcomed even more aviation professionals into our membership, including those from TSA, air cargo, and airline industries.

In 2010, we officially became SkyOne Federal Credit Union, a name that reflected our national reach and our commitment to helping people navigate life’s financial journey—wherever it takes them.

By 2019, we had opened our charter even further, serving anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school near our Southern California headquarters—and beyond.

We’ve proudly grown with our members, and in 2023, we celebrated reaching 60,000 members nationwide. In 2024, we marked 75 years of service and achieved a major milestone: $1 billion in assets.

Today, we’re more than a credit union—we’re a trusted partner for families. With every product, every service, and every relationship, we’re building something better: a future where families thrive.
